At TMJDirectory.com we are committed to making our website's content accessible and user-friendly to everyone. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how we build, not a one-time checkbox.
This effort supports our goal of compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Conformance status: TMJDirectory is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which means some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard. The gaps we are aware of are listed under "Known limitations" below, and we are actively working to resolve them.

What we do
- Semantic HTML with labeled forms, alt text on meaningful images, and keyboard-reachable controls.
- Color choices checked for contrast against our backgrounds.
- Motion kept minimal, and decorative animation disabled for users with a reduced motion system preference.
- Pages built to work without JavaScript where possible, every provider and state page is served as plain, readable HTML.
Known limitations
- The interactive map is inherently visual. Every provider shown on the map is also available in the accessible list view and on plain-HTML state pages at /tmj-specialists/.
- Some older educational pages are still being rebuilt to our current standards.
