1. Who may be listed
TMJDirectory lists licensed healthcare professionals and legally practicing providers whose work involves temporomandibular disorders — including dentists and dental specialists, orofacial pain specialists, physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists or bodyworkers where their practice is legally licensed or authorized in their state. By claiming or creating a listing you represent that:
- You hold, and will maintain, every license, registration, or certification required to provide your listed services in each state where you practice;
- Your license is active — not expired, surrendered, suspended, or revoked;
- You practice within your legal scope of practice, and your listing describes only services within that scope;
- You carry the professional liability (malpractice) insurance required for your profession in your state, where applicable;
- If your listing uses the term “TMJ Specialist” or any similar specialist designation, you make the following attestation: “I represent that my use of the term ‘TMJ Specialist’ complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional licensing requirements.”
2. Verification
We may ask for — and you agree to provide on request — your license number, issuing state, expiration date, NPI number (if applicable), business address, and proof of identity or insurance. We may check these against state licensing boards, the NPI Registry, and public business records, at listing time and periodically after. Verification confirms identity, licensure status, and control of the practice's contact information; it is not a certification of clinical competency or quality (see How We Vet). TMJDirectory does not certify or independently determine whether a listed professional is a specialist; titles, credentials, and areas of practice are provided by the listed professional unless otherwise indicated.
3. Accuracy and upkeep
- Everything in your listing — credentials, services, insurance participation, availability, photos — must be truthful and not misleading.
- Keep it current: update material changes (address, phone, licensure status, insurance participation) within 30 days.
- No guaranteed outcomes, no "cure" claims, no diagnoses of prospective patients, and no claims that violate FDA, FTC, or state advertising rules for your profession.
- No fake, purchased, or undisclosed-incentive testimonials. If you display a testimonial that was incentivized in any way, it must say so.
- Disclose material financial relationships where the law requires it, and never present paid placement anywhere as an organic endorsement.
4. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the bios, photos, and other content you add to your listing. You grant TMJDirectory a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and reproduce that content to operate and promote the directory. You represent that you have the rights to everything you upload — no copyrighted photos you don't own, no content that violates another person's privacy (including patient images without written consent).
5. Code of conduct
- Treat patients and fellow providers with professionalism in every interaction that touches this platform.
- No discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
- No harassment of patients or other providers, on or off the platform, in connection with directory activity.
- No misuse of directory data — patient inquiries come to you for care purposes, not for marketing lists or resale.
6. Premium listings
- Premium placement affects ordering and presentation only — Premium and claimed listings appear above unclaimed listings and carry a visible ★ Premium label. Placement is disclosed to visitors and never presented as a clinical ranking.
- During the launch phase, Premium is complimentary for claimed U.S. listings and remains complimentary for providers outside the United States as we grow internationally.
- When paid Premium subscriptions begin: pricing and terms will be presented before you are charged; subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you may cancel any time, effective at the end of the current billing period; we will disclose renewal terms clearly at signup and before any price change, with advance notice. Failed payments trigger a notice and grace period before any downgrade. Refunds for partial periods are not provided except where required by law. Nothing converts from free to paid without your explicit action.
7. Suspension and removal
We may suspend or remove a listing, without refund of any then-applicable fees, if:
- a license expires, or is surrendered, suspended, or revoked;
- the listing contains false, deceptive, or legally non-compliant claims that aren't corrected after notice;
- fake testimonials, impersonation, or fraudulent claiming of someone else's listing is involved;
- the code of conduct is violated; or
- required verification information isn't provided after reasonable requests.
Where practical we'll notify you and give you a chance to fix the issue first. Serious safety or fraud issues may result in immediate removal. You may wind down voluntarily at any time — claim your listing and request removal, and we'll honor it.
8. Relationship of the parties
You are an independent business. Nothing in this agreement creates an employment, agency, partnership, or referral-fee relationship between you and TMJDirectory. We do not direct visitors’ choices; we display information and let them decide. You are not an employee, agent, representative, or contractor of TMJDirectory.
9. General
This agreement works together with the site Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We may update it as the directory grows; material changes will be dated at the top of this page, and continued listing after a change constitutes acceptance. This agreement is between you and Stanley Wellness LLC (operating as TMJDirectory) and is governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
