Purpose
If and when TMJDirectory displays reviews or testimonials, this policy explains how they are handled so the directory stays honest and useful.
Authentic reviews only
- Reviews must reflect genuine, first-hand experience.
- Fake, purchased, incentivized, or fraudulent reviews are prohibited, whether positive or negative.
- Providers may not write reviews of themselves or their competitors, or direct others to post fake reviews.
What may be removed
TMJDirectory may edit for formatting or remove content that is:
- Fake, misleading, or not based on genuine experience.
- Defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory.
- Off-topic, spam, or promotional.
- A privacy violation, including protected health information or identifying patient details.
- Unlawful or in violation of our Terms of Use.
We do not remove honest, good-faith negative reviews simply because a provider requests it or offers payment.
Provider responses
Providers may respond to reviews of their own listing professionally and without disclosing any patient information. Responses are subject to this policy and the Code of Conduct.
Reporting a review
To report a review you believe violates this policy, contact us with the listing and details. We review reports and act at our discretion.
No pay-for-placement in reviews
Review content and moderation are independent of advertising or Premium status. Paid placement is governed by the Advertising & Sponsorship Policy.
